Three decades in Texas and Mexico. Operator, investor, advisor.
Principal of A. Jimmy Garza LLC. Managing Partner of Peña Garza Consulting.
Schedule a conversationAquiles Jaime Garza, Jr., known professionally as A. Jimmy Garza, has spent three decades building and advising companies across Texas and Mexico. His work spans food and beverage, agri-business, retail, and finance, plus civic and political work in both countries.
The Garza story in produce begins half a century earlier. Jimmy's father, A. Jaime Garza, Sr., learned the trade at Teddy Bertuca Company, one of the most prominent shippers in the Rio Grande Valley, before founding Bebo Enterprises in Pharr. Jimmy grew up in the trucks, the packing houses, and the fields. That foundation runs through everything he builds today.
Jimmy earned a B.B.A. from Baylor University in 1997 and now serves on the Advisory Councils of Baylor's Supply Chain Management and International Business programs. A. Jimmy Garza LLC is the holding entity for his investments, advisory engagements, and civic work, anchored by Peña Garza Consulting, where he is Managing Partner.
Jimmy founded Bebo Fresh and partners with legacy houses like Dixon Boots and Olsen-Stelzer. Through Peña Garza Consulting, he led the U.S. expansion of Tehuacán Brillante into 100+ H-E-B stores and Buc-ee's, with additional distribution at 7-Eleven and Stripes. He has introduced HydroShot and Agua de Piedra to the American premium beverage market. A partnership with Enpramex extends his reach into global trade, energy, and logistics across thirteen countries.
Senior counsel to executives navigating complex business, political, and regulatory environments. Delivered through Peña Garza Consulting.
Founding and scaling consumer brands in food, beverage, retail, and lifestyle. Built to hold, not to flip.
Statewide campaigns, Texas boards, and the Rio Grande Valley. Co-founder of Tejano Republicans PAC. Steward of The Emma Foundation.
As Managing Partner of Peña Garza Consulting, Jimmy works with executives, organizations, and elected officials on decisions where access and credibility matter as much as the analysis.
The firm is based in McAllen, with regular presence in Austin, Washington, D.C., and Mexico City. Most engagements involve some combination of business strategy, government relations, and cross-border execution.
A separate partnership with Enpramex, headquartered in Houston with hubs in Rotterdam and Abu Dhabi, covers international trade, fuel logistics, and cross-border infrastructure.

For strategic advisory engagements:
In 2014, Jimmy co-founded Tejano Republicans PAC, a McAllen-based political action committee that recruits and supports Tejano conservative candidates across the Rio Grande Valley.
South Texas has since become one of the most consequential political realignments in the country, and the PAC continues to identify and elevate the next generation of Tejano conservative leaders.
A chance encounter with a Baylor T-shirt in Washington, D.C. reconnected Jimmy with his alma mater. The magazine profile that followed traced his path from B.B.A. ’97 to founder.
When Topo Chico was acquired by Coca-Cola in 2018, Jimmy saw the moment for what it was: proof that a Mexican mineral water could stand alongside Pellegrino and Perrier. He founded Tehuacán Brillante. Today it’s in H-E-B, Circle K, and 7-Eleven, and is the primary mineral water sold at Buc-ee’s. When the Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center opened at Baylor, the university reached out: Baylor-branded Tehuacán is now what prospective students receive when they visit campus.
“You never know how ideas and perceptions can change. Growing up, we were always battling the perception that you couldn’t drink the water in Mexico. Look at us now. Tehuacán reverses those perceptions, and people love our mineral water.”
